omigodz fangirls

Yes, I'm sure, by looking at the date I'm posting it, and the title, you have miraculously figured out the subject of this blog;Twilight. Oh, how they scream ! Oh, how they ravish the being that is Edward Cullen. They, I mean, the fangirls. In which I put myself as a center of them. I am the fangirl; the fangirl is me.

Now, you have to see my case before I go on a rant. I read. I read. And, I read. I have always loved books, and I always will. Since 2006 (the summer New Moon released) I was drooling over Jasper Hale, (and of course Edward Cullen). I threw my book at my friends; forcing them to read it so we could have squeling discusstions. I brought them into my circle of Twilight, and slowly, but surely, we began to grow (the Twilighters). At least in my region, because already there were so many across the country, the world, the universe ! You had to search for the fan sites, but they were sure there. And slowly people began to discover them, and soon they caught on, that the Twilighters were growing to a level that could compete with Harry Potter. "The New Harry Potter" they accused us. As if. Could Harry even play on the same level as Edward ? No, they were too different. But for some reason, we crossed each other's territorys. Harry Potter's fandom slowly crept into bookstores, silently, with comoflage, buying Twilight and loving it. As did the fans of Twilight, finially tempting into reading the series. And, from there it became something larger. There were of course those fighting on either side "HARRY POTTER" some yelled. "TWILIGHT FTW!" others screamed. But we could chose neither. They are both amazing, we would reason. Stop the war !

But soon, to no one's surprise, Twilight was optioned for a movie for the second time (the first being shot down). Stephenie Meyer, finally agreeing to the smaller production company, Summit Entertainment, take it. And of course, they went at it, took the bull by the horns. Did they truly know what they were getting in to ? Twilight was already huge, but it was still somehow hidden underground. Did Cathrine or the producer's really understand what any of us would do for a bite ? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Obiously the stars didn't. They didn't comprehend until the film was released; and "others" began "loving" it.

This is where I get pissed off. The kids who now flaunt around my school (and I'm sure others) don't really understand Twilight. They see simply some "really hot guy" the new "Chace Crawford" or "Zac Efron" or something. Not the literary art that is Twilight. I'm sure some of them didn't even know what a book was before seeing how big it was. Twilight hasn't become loved, or adored, or truly understood; it has become a trend. Something that is seems everyone has to follow. Oh, how I use to get looks for giggling with friends about how hot the Cullens were (along with every other book related subject). Now, I can barely walk down the hallway without some "popular" kid gushing about Robert Pattinson. IT WAS EVEN ON MUCH MUSIC. That' was where I knew we'd fallen through a hole. How could these illiterate "fans" even dare call themselves "Twi-hards"? I question. How could we allow this to happen to our beloved books ? Who knows. But perhaps this is why I've fallen from loving them. Why it annoys me to see everyone "loving" the books. Lies, I tell you, lies.

Moving on.

The movie was by far; amazing. I can't even begin to tell you how awesome it was. Catherine Hardwick is by far my favorite director. I get what they were all saying now; they didn't change the STORY really. I mean, some scenes were cut; others added, but realistically, nothing made me scrutch up my face and be like "wtf? what is this?". I was there giggling, gasping, awwwing, squeling and cheering along with the movie at the moments that called for it. I mean, some parts, were suppose to be super serious, but just turned out to be really funny; and the humans are my heros. Without a doubt, I'm joining the Micheal Welch fan club. He's an amazing actor. And out of all of them, I was so proud to see him on the screen. Maybe it's because he's been the one so in tuned with the fans, or maybe it's because NoMoreMarbles has interviewed him. Who knows, but I pretty much squeled when ever I saw him. And Jackson. Him and his face...

So, overall, fangirl or not; SEE THE MOVIE. I don't even care. You have no excuse. And don't use that "vampire movies aren't my type.." shit. Because, if you like action or romance or comedy or just about any movie genre; you'll love Twilight. So go. Get tickets. Or I'll send the spider monkeys after you. >;D

The world through NaNoWriMo.

NaNoWriMo can be the most helpful thing, or the most treacherous. It can be amazingly simple, or finger-breaking hard. It's one of those things that one day you want to pull out your hair, others you just sit back and go "wow".

NaNoWriMo stands for "National Novel Writing Month". Your goal ? 50 000 words. Your time frame ? November 1st to the 30th. Your diet ? Halloween treats and flat coke.

Now, I'm sure your staring, blinking, at the screen. Fifty. Thousand. Words. IS SHE MAD ?!

The answer; Yes. I'm completely, utterly, and proudly insane. I beat kids with inflatable dolphins, and I like to blare 1920's country music through open windows.

But that's besides the point.

Nothing is more fun then TRYING to achieve something. You may fail horribly (as I, myself, expect to do). Or accomplish something beyond your greatest dreams. You may, in the end, need to spend some quality time with those men who give you the nice white jacket, and have fun bouncing around in a rubber room. Or, you could be in the next local paper; your NaNoWriMo published, because, you succeeded in writing the story you've always meant to write, but, "didn't have the time".

All this, of course, revolves around your ability to cope, and your attention span. Which I have very little of (attention span that is). If you can, as many can't, sit down in front of your computer screen for, oh, a few hours a day, just typing? Kudos to you. Because, if anything, that's my principal weakness.

None the less. This entire blog entry is actually me procrastinating writing.

It's working.

But, alas, I need to continue.

Comment, if you too feel the burn of NaNoWriMo.
